Long Day. Short Reports.
Today I:

* argued my first appeal in close to a decade. Went well, except for a picky little point I totally wasn't expecting any of the judges to raise and largely flubbed on the fly.  The final questions suggested a recovery from that, though.

* took two calls from a rather frightened client- but not so frightened that the second wasn't interrupted by what I'm pretty sure was the client making a drive-thru order of a couple of donuts.

* got through my second full day of taking Turmeric supplements, morning and night, for my knee pain, and while it's still There, it's not as constant, or as severe for the most part, and best of all wasn't horrid after 160 miles of driving today.

* picked up the mystery novel written by a hometown friend that launched today and was happy to find it in a local bookstore;

* restocked our stemware at the Christmas Tree Shoppe across the plaza from BN, marveling at just how much useless crap that place can pack under one gabled roof;

* also made headway with Terry Pratchett's Raising Steam on the tablet, and have even learned how to click through to his amusing footnotes in the Kindle app and then get right back to the footnoted text;

* laughed at the Bills' former head coach, who quit at the end of 2014 in expectation of getting a better coaching job, but who today had to settle for a gig two rungs down the coaching ladder with one of the worst teams in the league (and who the Bills will play next fall- in London, yet);

* watched another adapted-from-play film that we really liked- Heights, starring Glenn Close who does an amazing job with both the role itself and the within-a-play portrayal of Lady Mackers.

Not bad for a Tuesday. Cue the humps.

What I liked about the Jags hiring the Bills guy was that they had a choice between him and a guy who coached for the Broncos. It's their best decision since Blake Bortles! My brother is a rabid Jags fan. I really wanted to hear his take on it, but figured he would just tell me what a fantastic plan this was, and the Jags will win the Super Bowl next year.
