I'm Tense and Nervous and I Can't Relax....
Don't worry. It's just a song lyric, and it references a TV show.

The 2016 House of Cards binge is near complete.  I got to the beginning of the finale just now, and only a combination of Long Day and Low Battery are holding me up.  Third-to-last evidenced the Lull that these arcs often experience right before the last two or three eps; if anything, it was downright creepy at its very end. But the Pen-Ulti-Wood episode ratcheted up the stress on at least three major storylines all at once, including an all-too-real twist on one of them that's going to make it a lot harder to sleep tonight.

I'll have it all down the hatch within a week of the moment I started last Friday.

We're also nearing the end of this year's Portlandia; for us, we may have reached our limit. Last week's, guesting and directed by Steve Buscemi, was a disappointment.  It was one of the unusually many single-schtick episodes they've done this season, which by and large are not nearly as good as the ones which weave through multiple sketches.  I've always thought this show comes the closest to duplicating the intelligent humor of Monty Python sketch comedy, and I always found that show's full-episode sketches to be among its weakest (Mr. Pither, anyone?).  Just three more of those to go.

----

Agent Carter's also nearing the end. At least we've caught up to where Hulu Plus can take us through to the end- we're round midway through Episode 7, with three to follow.  I'm not finding it as compelling as the first series- some of the vapidness of the moved-to-Hollywood setting tends to make it drag in spots, and I'm missing some of the better characters from premiere year who were either written out or killed off.  But it seems destined for a renewal.  Maybe they'll move Peggy and her nemesis to D.C.; that's one way to be sure we'll still have at least one Underwood around.

----

Finally, I'm caught up on 11.22.63. Its fourth week (four to go) was kinda Lull-ish itself, but they're laying a lot of groundwork in terms of both action and characters, and I have some Theories, Which I Have about some of each that should get confirmed or dispelled pretty quickly after this.

Road day tomorrow, but wifi is everywhere.
