Right enough, behind the cups of cocoa there was a plate stacked with the flat devils. Napoleon shuddered and eyed Illya who winked back at him.

'I believe that your uncle Napoleon has a story involving hostile gingerbread men, baking utensils, and himself.'

... 'Napoleon? Is that you?' Illya stared at the white head popping up behind the counter.

'Yes. No laughing, Illya! See those gingerbread men through the window, there?'

'Those gingerbread men, with the brooms?'

'Yes, those. The brooms contain bullets.'

...So you see, young Tim, why your uncle gave you the spare gingerbread man.'

You are all fine and well and noble. Each and every last five billion of you. Every time I assume you will disappoint me you fall through with breath taking ability. You are sleek and quick and always match my ensemble. But then again of course you do. I am your lord and Master! Mwahaha!

However, I would appreciate it greatly if you could stop fucking shredding up the curtains on the valiant. Those are expensive you know! Just because you've obliterated nearly all of Earth does not give you the right to find obtain a new conquest on my ship! Those are expensive you little mongrels!

Now go and shred up Captain Jack Harkness instead, and leave my silk curtains alone. You make me such a proud Master!

To both of you, I love you ever so much. You guys both make my days so much less frustrating than they would alone, and the fact you two are actually alive and well is such a prize in its own! I've had cat mishaps ever since I have moved to this state, but you two pulled through with me and made me not lose hope. I'll say it again, I love you both for this just so much...

I understand you are a little ball of energy, being only a few months old, but please please PLEASE stop clawing and biting everyone that tries to come in contact with you or even passes by you. Maybe your mommy didn't have the time to discipline you and teach you the ropes before you were given to new owners, but you should know better than to attack your new mommy's foot as she is trying to go down the stairs! Especially with lots of dishes in her hands... that would not come out pretty for either of us.

Also, why is it whenever I go to use the restroom, you must follow me in every time? Even more that you feel the need to jump onto my lap as I sit and you lay there, calm as calm can be and you let me pet you without a bite. Why aren't you this way any other time when I'm not in the bathroom, or when you're dealing with MY parents? I'm clueless as to what's up with you, you sure are a confusing little snowball...

And, one last note- please stop scaring Buki? She might be big and intimidating, but she means you no harm and only wants to be your pal, and really, it's frustrating having to have you two seperated by whole rooms...

I understand you must love me so much, constantly wanting to show your affection towards me and the fact you warmed up to me so quickly those few years ago when you were given a new home with us, but honestly when mommy is on the computer trying to draw or type, this does not mean to come and splay out on my lap (or rub your face onto my enter or esc. key!). I pet you for long periods of time and remember to change your food and water and sometimes even cuddle with you even when I'm not too tired, which you seem to enjoy... but mom is not here for 24/7 love, sad to say.

and Buki, could you explain why you find the need to stick your little tush in my face every chance you get? If you are worried that you are getting too fat or just wondering if your butt is getting bigger, I assure you it hasn't changed over the last few hours since you last showed me it. Also, ever since that little smelly trick you pulled on me once as I was trying to SLEEP, I have a massive lack of trust in you once you stick that thing in my face.... Please, don't do that to me again :(

It's almost time for the Camelot Christmas Meetup! I hope you're all as excited as you should be. ;p

Date: Sunday 13th December
Time: 13.00
Location: The Rocket, Euston Road (it's cheap which is good around Christmas, and will probably be less annoyed by us causing a racket with everything else we're doing!)
Activities: Defiling of the poster of luring, writing games, the obligatory crack round robin, pass the forfeit parcel (don't worry, there will be nothing I'm not prepared to do in it!) and a couple of other activities I have up my sleeve. Plus, fangirl squee!
Cost: These things mean that I will need to go out and organise before, which means that to not end up out of pocket, I'm asking for £2 from everyone that comes.

Author's Notes: I wrote this during the madcap month of NaNoWriMo. I may have failed spectacularly on the wordcount front, but at least it gave me an idea.

Rose couldn't help but laugh as she looked around, peering up at the gaudy neon sign that read The Black Hole Pub and Space Station, ”So, you've brought me to what looks to be the seediest pub in the universe. Nice."

while mhat's got the mad statistics about the rapid abandonment of livejournal lately, i decided to take a last stand this month and see how it goes. i've trimmed my reading list down significantly so now i can actually catch up in a few minutes even if i take a couple days off. so i think it's functional for me again, though i did have to give up quite a bit of the things i want to read (and a shameful amount of stuff i felt obligated to read, for some reason. yeah, definitely for the best that i cut a lot of that out). and hey, i know i have friends/readers because you guys came out of the woodwork when i posted. so, yeah, let's see how this goes.

despite the fact that i'm not running off, i still do feel, in accord with mhat's numbers, that LJ's on its way out, at least in the circles i run in. kind of like...hmm, myspace 2 years ago? like it had a critical mass that sustained itself despite people coming and going for a good long time...for me the sweet spot was probably 2004-2008. but i think these days ain't nobody coming round anymore--in fact, probably the newest journaller i know is sheilanova, and that happened back when we were dating in...2006? i can't wait for something like google wave (which i haven't even signed up for, but pretend i have an understanding of) to come around and actually consolidate every damn thing so i can just go to somewhere.com and read twitter, lj, facebook, rss feeds, and IM all in one stream--i'd have a separate IM client for the few folks i talk to even when i'm in deep hack mode so i wouldn't have a "social pane" open nonstop, and i'd want to keep email separate. hmm. i bet there are actually already 12 services that do this--has meebo.com started speaking facebook, twitter, and RSS yet? well, i'd actually pay for this if someone did it well. suggestions welcome!

i wish i had something profound to say, but i'll work up to that next time. anyway, LJ is dead, long live LJ! yay?
