The Friendly Beasts- Plus-or-Minus One:P - Blather. Rants. Repeat.
A Møøse once bit my sister ...
The Friendly Beasts- Plus-or-Minus One:P
Not the most famous of all Christmas carols, but we've spent more time with the grandkitties the past 48 hours than we have the actual humans, so I guess it fits:

As with previous visits, it takes their two aminals just about this long to acclimate to the surroundings so they're not perpetually hiding (in the case of the big, skittish boykitty) or hiss-spitting mean (the M.O. of their older, smaller calico girlkitty). I forgot this reality yesterday afternoon, when Gwenny hauled off and left two clawy calling cards on the side of my right nostril. She's been much more sociable today; i.e., she's coming out of their room, preening in public places, and offering no verbal or digit-al threats against me or the other tenants of the home.

Arthur, on the other hand, sticks to their room, but is a cuddly little bear when you come meet him in his spot on his terms. Our animals are still freaking him out, but they've generally gotten into indifference mode by now.

They'll all be heading back to their place tomorrow, and, here, we'll be back to a final few days of 2014. I have one project I need to complete in that time, a few others I should make progress on, but otherwise I expect those business days to be as Mostly Dead as the four "work"days were this past week.

Speaking of things digital, I've been pigging out on the disks I'd gotten Emily, from the first longago season of NBC's Saturday Night (as it was known that year), finding it hard to believe it will be 40 years this time next year that these classics first aired. I remember so many of them, even though I was still in high school at the time and didn't watch every episode; the John Belushi/Joe Cocker ones are especially touching, given the latter's passing this past week; and sniffles also came from remembering the further-back passings of Richard Pryor (doing a "job interview" scene with Chevy Chase that probably would get censored today), Anthony Perkins (doing the "Norman Bates School of Motel Management") and George Carlin, the show's first-ever host.

Off to have a look at the seventh of the eight disks- these are on the monitor in their room, so there'll be more kitty cuddles to be had:)
