Updating and Downer-reporting:
*  It's been reported that the sculptor of the Zombie Lucy statue has promised a free fix. Yay.

*  Two more Bloodline eps watched, five remain. As with many premium shows with a 12- or 13-ep arc, there's a lull around the eighth. I expect it, accept it and hope it will live up to its expectations beyond it.

* We followed our Imitation Game viewing with Theory of Everything two nights later.  The former had the better story, I thought, but the acting and amazing age-progression of the Hawkings and Stephen's mentor (played by David "Wolfy McWolferson" Thewlis of HP fame) were even more remarkable and the acting Oscar well-deserved.

And in the sad news of the day, the world bid farewell today to Stan Freberg. He was one of those stars of comedy back when the LP record was the major milieu for them perfecting their craft.  Of all his bits that aired through my coming-of-age moments in the 60s, the one I will always remember the most was one of his earliest, but one which has stood the test of time.

Just the sympathies, ma'am:

(And, yes- I checked: "Butler" in that credit is Daws Butler, who went on to be the longtime voice of Yogi Bear, among many others. The "Schumann" is Walter Schumann, composer of the Dragnet theme: "Webb liked the idea, approved the use of the theme and allowed Freberg to use the same orchestra from the Dragnet series with Schumann conducting. The recording had to be restarted several times because the trombone players were laughing so hard at the jokes that they were unable to play their instruments.")

Stan Freberg is gone? Why did I not know this?
